PSAT
The PSAT test provides firsthand practice for the SAT and is offered to juniors during a school day in October. The test is divided into two main sections - Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math. There is a fee and registration information is provided by School Counselors.


SAT
The SAT test is comprised of two sections - Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math. There is an optional essay section. 
Junior Year - Usually taken in March, May or June for the first time
Senior Year - Taken in October or November

ACT
The ACT test consists of four sections - English, Math, Reading, and Science, as well as an optional writing section. 
Junior Year - Usually taken in April or June for the first time
Senior Year - Taken in September or October

Test Prep


Testing Accommodations
Students who receive testing accommodations may be eligible for accommodations for college entrance exams. There is a separate application process for accommodations through ACT or through the College Board. Applications are submitted on a student's behalf through the SSD Coordinator, Judie Knapp - School Psychologist. jknapp@cortlandschools.org
