Lessons are an essential part of successfully playing an instrument. Lessons provide individual or small group opportunities to ask questions and receive feedback that is directly related to your needs. Lessons need to be spread out to provide time for you to work on different concepts and figure out where you need extra help.

- Practice log that says: What you practiced, How long you practiced, When you practiced.
Private Lesson Students:
- If you are taking private lessons from an approved teacher, you may have a sheet signed by your private teacher and parent or guardian to exempt you from all but 1 in school lesson per quarter.
- You are encouraged to keep taking lessons in school, but there will not be a penalty for a missed in school lesson.
