Cortland Schools Launch ParentSquare to Enhance Communication with Families
The Cortland Enlarged City School District is excited to announce the launch of ParentSquare as our new, unified communication platform for families and staff.  ParentSquare is an easy-to-use, app-based tool that brings all school communications—classroom updates, school news, announcements, forms, and alerts—into one convenient place. Whether through text, email, push notifications, or direct messaging, ParentSquare allows families to stay informed and connected with their child’s school in real time.

“We are always looking for ways to strengthen our partnership with families,” said Superintendent Robert Edwards. “ParentSquare gives us the ability to communicate more effectively, more consistently, and in a way that meets families where they are—on their phones, tablets, or computers.”

Beginning this school year, families can expect to receive messages from teachers, principals, and district administrators through ParentSquare. The platform will be used for classroom newsletters, permission slips, event reminders, weather alerts, and more. It even allows two-way communication so parents and guardians can reply directly to messages or contact school staff securely.

To access all features, families will need to activate their ParentSquare account. Activation is quick and easy and connects directly to contact information already stored in SchoolTool, the District’s Student Information System. Ensuring your contact information is current in SchoolTool is essential for a smooth ParentSquare experience.

“Communication is key to student success,” added Edwards. “With ParentSquare, we’re taking a big step forward in ensuring that every family receives the information they need—clearly, consistently, and in the language they prefer.”

Families will soon receive an invitation to join ParentSquare via email or text. We encourage everyone to download the free app and explore its features.
