At its April 20 meeting, the Board of Education Recognized Staff Achievements

During the April 20 meeting, the Board of Education recognized staff achievements, celebrated student creativity, and approved key budget items for the upcoming school year.

John Zarcone and Emily Morse presented Tiger Paw Awards to staff members Timothy Hannula, Amber Thayer, and Tanya Zimmer in recognition of their contributions to the district.

The meeting also highlighted the work of the Cortland Public Education Foundation (CPEF). President Bob Russell and CPEF board member Jillian Tucker awarded certificates to recipients of the 2025 fall and 2026 spring grants. As part of the presentation, 11th-grade student Anthony Femino performed an original song on an electric guitar purchased through a CPEF grant.

In addition to recognitions and presentations, the Board approved the OCM BOCES administrative budget for 2026–2027, as well as the district’s proposed budget for the same year, along with several other resolutions.
