Eligibility requirements:

total income (all owners who live in the home and any spouse who lives in the home) must be $500,000 or less

must own the home
-
must be primary residence
Properties purchased before August 1, 2015 will receive an exemption of up to $30,000 of assessed value on the school tax bill.
Properties purchased after August 1, 2015 will receive a check for the equivalent exemption (up to $545) from New York State directly. The exemption or credit is noted on your bill as either BAS STAR or STAR Check.

Properties purchased after August 1, 2015 will receive a check for the equivalent exemption from New York State directly (up to $1,190). The exemption or credit is noted on your bill as either ENH STAR or STAR Check.
