Student director Joe Cataldo said, “The play is about the wicked witch from the land of once upon a time, that is on trial for crimes against other fairy tale characters. The play is super funny and entertaining. I encourage everyone to come see the hard work of the junior high students. The students have really worked hard on this and the play is very good.”
Director Ben Wells said, “This year we have an extremely talented group of young and enthusiastic performers. Many of these students have been rehearsing in the evening for the last month. At the beginning of the rehearsal process, a lot of groundwork was laid regarding how to act and be on stage. Throughout the process the students are able to really hone those skills to put on an entire production.”
Many of these students will go on to be involved in the High School Musical in the coming years. Ben Wells said, “The junior high program is the feeder program for the high school, so the more students we get that want to explore theatre at that level, the more skills and confidence they will get at the high school level.”
We hope to see you there at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 31st and Saturday, February 1st at the OCM BOCES McEvoy Center!
