6th Grade

2/26/13
We have finished up our Musical Artist Projects and presented them to the class.  Students chose one musical artist or group and researched them.  They created a powerpoint presentation and then shared with the class.  We had a lot of fun learning about different artists and listening to their music.

12/4/12
We have started using instruments to add to some holiday songs, such as handbells and will be learning how to play Linus and Lucy on the Orff xylophones.

10/10/12
We have been looking at songs of the Beatles.  We got to listen to an audiobook of The Yellow Submarine and the students seemed to enjoy its wimsy and surrealism.

9/18/12
Our students worked through the Preamble to the US Constitution.  We talked through some of the more difficult words and then added some beats to the background while we rapped it.

We are also having fun learning different pirate songs, some of which are fun and some which are just plain silly.  You can find a silly example here.
