Our third graders are gearing up for our concert on March 13th at 7pm. We are looking forward to presenting our songs about St. Patty's Day and Music in Our Schools Month.

We have been looking at different holiday songs and will start to play the Orff Xylophones.
10/10/12
We have been investigating the Woodwind Family of instruments. We have been using games to practice identifying them by name and sound.
9/25/12
Our students learned about different dynamics in music and what they mean.
piano = soft
mezzo piano = medium soft
mezzo forte = medium loud
forte = loud
We got to put them into action while singing "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from Disney's Mary Poppins

Our students have reviewed songs they learned last year and or learning some new ones. This week we worked on rapping the Preamble to the US Constitution in honor of Constitution Day (9/17).
We are also learning some Pirate songs in honor of International Talk Like a Pirate Day (9/19). AAAaaarrrrrr!
