Outdoor Track Available for Public Use
Now that the weather has FINALLY warmed up, the Cortland Enlarged City School District wanted to notify the community that the outdoor track is now available for
public use! We are welcoming the community to run or walk laps not only to promote a healthier lifestyle, but to invite the community to experience the great facility.
Some things to keep in mind:
Our students are first priority, so the track will not be open to the public/community use when school is in session or when one of our Cortland Tigers athletic teams are using it.
The track can be utilized during daylight hours.
Pets, bikes, skateboards or roller blades are not allowed.
Please utilize the inside lines for running and the outer lanes for walking.
The track and stadium is monitored.
Walking is an activity that is easy and accessible to most students, staff, families, and community members. Walking uses all of the major muscle groups in the upper and lower body, and is low impact. Action for Healthy Kids: describes walking as one of the healthiest, safest, and easiest ways to begin a fitness program that can contribute to a healthier lifestyle. Get walking, Cortland!
