Women's Ice Hockey Team Game to Support Cortland Cares

All Cortland Enlarged School District students and parent/guardians, are invited to SUNY Cortland Women’s Ice Hockey game on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Park Center Ice Arena. The game is free for all, but all attendees are highly encouraged to bring a monetary donation or a non perishable item to benefit Cortland Cares. Cortland Cares is a local organization that supports Cortland elementary families in need. Students from all five schools will sing the national anthem, band students will play in a pep band throughout the game, and one student representative from each school will participate in a ceremonial puck drop.

Throughout the game, videos will be played that feature students discussing their character traits and other school building character education traits. The YouTube playlist of videos that will be featured at the game can be found here:

Raffle tickets will be sold to win a prize that was donated from local businesses including Bernards, Byrne Dairy, Central City, Fat Jack’s, Graph-Tex, Long Island Bagel, and Pontillo’s Pizzeria. Additionally, athletic apparel will be given away by SUNY Cortland Athletics.

Students and families are asked to sit in the designated school seating areas. The sections are designated by school specific banners created by each school’s art club. At the conclusion of the game players will take pictures with the student sections.

Please consider attending this fun family free event! Have fun, root for the team, and help families in need!
