Baseball Wins Academic Excellence Award

The Cortland High School Baseball Program has earned high praise for its hard work in the classroom!  The American Baseball Coaches Association's Team Academic Excellence Award honors high school and college programs coached by ABCA members that post a grade point average over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the academic year.  The Cortland High School Baseball Program has earned this celebrated distinction for both the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
Cortland Varsity Baseball Head Coach Ben Albright, is proud of the program’s achievements: “Along with competing on the field, we strive for success off the field and in the classroom.  As part of our annual team goals, we have incorporated the need to become NYS Scholar Athletes and ABCA Academic Excellence Award recipients.  The baseball program has been recognized as NYS Scholar Athletes every year since 2011.  I'm very proud of my players and their continued success on and off the field.”
Congratulations to the entire baseball program on this tremendous achievement!  More information on the ABCA Award, including a list of recipients, can be found here.
