Cortland High Theatre Presents "Harvey"

On Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11, the Cortland High Theatre of Cortland Junior Senior High School (CJSHS) will present the play “Harvey” by Mary Chase.

The play “Harvey” introduces audiences to Elwood P. Dowd, a man who claims to have a supposedly imaginary friend named Harvey, who is also a 6’ tall rabbit. Elwood introduces Harvey to everyone he meets, much to the embarrassment of his sister Veta and niece Myrtle Mae. Thinking Elwood’s behavior odd, Veta and Myrtle decide to have Harvey committed to Chumley's Rest, a sanitarium for mental patients. A comedy of errors and hilarity ensues when the rookie psychiatrist commits the wrong family member, and in concert, they must untangle the mess that has been created.

“Harvey” will take place March 10 and 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the CJSHS Auditorium. Tickets are $8 each and can be purchased at the door.
