Winning Student Essay    Press Release

While the contest was active, participating students followed these rules:
  1. Get your parent's or guardian's permission to participate. If you are 14 through 18, you may submit online. If you are 13 and younger, you MUST submit with a mail-in form.
  2. Your Essay Must Be Your Own Original Work!
  3. Your Essay must not be longer than:
    • 50 words if you are in Grades K-3
    • 250 words if you are in Grades 4-7
    • 500 words if you are in Grades 8-12
  4. If your idea is the name of a person, the person cannot still be living.
  5. Your idea for a name should not be the same as names already given to NASA missions or programs or a name that is already under copyright.
