2018-2019 Budget Vote Passes
On May 15, the residents of the Cortland Enlarged City School District turned out at the polls and approved the proposed 2018-2019 School District budget of $49,576,887. The Cortland community also elected three Board of Education members.
“Thank you to everyone who made time in their busy schedule to vote,” Superintendent of Schools Michael H. Hoose said. “Your support of the Cortland Enlarged City School District and its mission to educate the children of this community is very much appreciated.”
Approved a $49,576,887 budget for the 2018-19 school year that increases spending 0%, and carries a 1.23 percent tax levy increase: 445 yes, 209 no.
Approved the purchase of four 66 passenger school buses, one 66 passenger student transport vehicle, including all necessary furnishing, fixtures and equipment, and the expenditure of a total sum not to exceed $551,000: 501 yes, 164 no.
Elected three members of the Board of Education: Christine Gregory, Alane Van Donsel and Eugene Waldbauer. They will serve three-year terms starting July 1.
Approved an annual budget increase for of $7,907 for the Cortland Free Library: 480 yes, 195 no.
