Cortland Elementary Select Band
The Cortland Elementary Select Band, under the direction of Mrs. Eileen Allen and Mr. William Cushman, is comprised of advanced students from each of the five elementary schools. This group serves to provide the more accomplished students with additional band experience. Only those students who have shown excellent progress are chosen to participate in this organization. Select Band rehearses every Monday afternoon from 3:30 - 4:40 in the Band Room at the Junior - Senior High School.
In addition to the annual band concerts at the high school in December and April, the band also performs in the community at the elementary schools and local malls.
The Select Band also competes at Level 2 in the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Major Organization Festival in the Spring. The band also participates in the Music In The Parks Festival which includes going to the Dorney Park Amusement Park in June.
