6. I have been to France three times:
1. My first time was for about a week and a half in high school when I did a pen pal
exchange. I lived with Sara Laudinet and her family on their farm in Guéret. I had some awesome experiences which even included herding sheep! It was so much fun and it was very difficult to leave at the end.
2. The second time I went to France was for quite a bit longer. During my second
year of college I lived abroad for nine months. I lived with a host family - a woman named Martine and her 9 year old daughter Anne-Sophie. I studied French at L'Université de Haute-Bretagne Rennes 2 in a specialized program called CIREFE. That program was specifically designed to help non- native speakers learn French. It was awesome. I went to school with people from all around the world! I made friends with students from Vietnam, China, Taiwan, Japan, Jordan, Morroco... the list goes on! I got to experience holidays and familiy traditions with my host family like Christmas and Easter in France.
3. My third trip to France happened less than a year ago. I was able to chaperone
a Cortland school exchange with many of my former students. I stayed with a host family then as well.
