2009 Jean M. Coon Humanitarian Award

Award:

This award is for young women performing outstanding community service, with emphasis

placed on the quality of the overall service performed and the initiative of the candidate.

Academic achievement is not a factor in the selection.  An award of  $200.00 and a certificate

of achievement will be awarded in the spring.  The winning application is submitted to the district

level and a district winner will be announced at the end of June.

Awardees will be invited guests at Zonta's Woman of Achievement luncheon to be held in late April or early May.

Criteria:

High school female student (junior or senior)

Outstanding community service

essay:  Your thoughts about why community service is important

Letter of support

A signature from a counselor or principal is required on page 3
