Richard Eleck, M.M., Ithaca College, B.M., Baldwin-Wallace College, is currently the Director of Bands at Cortland Senior High School in Cortland, NY. His duties include conducting the Senior High Concert and Jazz Bands as well as directing the school's Pep and Marching bands. Prior to coming to Cortland, Mr. Eleck served as Director of the Jazz Band and Lecturer in Jazz at Cayuga Community College . He has also taught percussion at Ithaca College . Mr. Eleck serves as an All-State and Major Organization adjudicator for the New York State School Music Association and is a sought after guest clinician and conductor. He has studied conducting with Rodney Winther, Stephen Peterson and Col. Arnald Gabriel.

Mr. Eleck has served as President and Judge Coordinator of the New York State Field Band Conference, and as Vice-President for Bands of the Cortland County Music Teachers Association.

Mr. Eleck is a member of the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes where he is principal percussionist and timpanist. In addition, he is a freelance percussionist and drumset player.   Credits include performing with the Sammy Kaye Orchestra, Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble X and the B.C. Pops Orchestra.   

Mr. Eleck endorses and plays BroNwyn Custom Drums, Vic Firth Sticks and Grover Pro Percussion.
