Dear Fellow CHS Class of 1990 Grad,
Here we are, the year 2000. It’s been 10 years since we left ol’ CHS. Time flies! I can remember sitting in Mrs. Hilsinger’s homeroom in 9th grade and talking about where we’d be in the year 2000. What would we be doing when it came time for graduation, 5 year and even 10-year reunion? Well, that time has come!
Please join us for our 10-year reunion! We missed our 5 year- so let’s make the 10-year one to remember. The planning committee (self appointed after a few beers) has come up with some really great ideas for our gathering. Now we just need updates from all of you!
Here are the plans so far. We are still working on finalizing the food and total price, but this will help you in making your plans for the weekend. We chose Thanksgiving weekend for our reunion. It will help in bringing a lot of out-of-town alumni to the party.
Friday, November 24, 2000
Where: Patino Murphy’s
When: 7-11
What: All the beer/soda you can drink + shot and drink specials, pizza, wings, salad, etc.
The bar will be closed to the public between 7-11. It’s just us! Please bring spouses and significant others to meet all the crazies you went to high school with. Somewhere between $15-$20 a head.
Saturday, November 25, 2000
Where: CHS
When 12-2pm
What: Tour of CHS! Some of you with younger siblings may have seen the changes to our alma mater, from what I hear- you won’t recognize it! It will be a great chance to walk the halls again. Feel free to bring your children- or at least bring pictures of them so we can see them!
Saturday, November 25, 2000
Where: Dark Horse
When: 7-10pm
What: More beer and munchies! Again- it will be a closed bar, lots of fun. I’m sure someone will end up dancing on the bar. Spouses and significants welcome! Price will be around $10-$15 a head.
Special guest appearances will be made by some of your favorite teachers!
We’ve decided to make it easy on everyone and have the weekend be pay at the door. This should encourage everyone to try and make an appearance at least for one of the nights. We thought that sending a check ahead of time for a fancy sit-down dinner didn’t sound much like the Class of ’90! Maybe for our 20-year?
Though we don’t need to pay in advance, we still need to let the bars know how many people to expect. This will allow us to order the best food, and get the best pricing! There are a few different ways that you can RSVP. We’ll be sending out another letter as the date gets closer to firm up pricing and any other last minute changes.
The only things we need now are addresses! We’ve started an email list; if you’d like to be added- please include your email address along with your response. An electronic version of this letter will also be sent- please forward to anyone you are in touch with! I’ve included a list of people I do not currently have mailing addresses for. The list I am working from is our addresses from high school. Many of our parents may have moved out of the area- we’re hoping that many will be forwarded. We will continue to mail to old home addresses unless we hear otherwise. We’ll also put information in the Cortland Standard etc.
